Use a brush or comb to gently work through your dog’s coat and identify any mats or tangles.
Position the base of the Mat Splitter against your dog’s skin, keeping the tool upright.
Place the tapered guide beside the mat and gently slide the Mat Splitter forwards into the matted fur. Take care not to press or dig the tool into the skin.
Move the tool gently back and forth until the blade has cut through the mat. Work slowly and carefully without applying excessive force.
Once the mat has been loosened, gently remove the separated fur using a suitable brush or comb.
For dogs that are new to grooming, introduce the brush slowly. Begin grooming sessions when your dog is relaxed and, where possible, after exercise. Keep sessions brief initially and gradually increase their length as your dog becomes comfortable with grooming. Offer plenty of reassurance throughout the session and pause or end grooming if your dog becomes agitated or shows signs of stress.
Mat Splitter measures : 7 × 5.5cm

This product contains a sharp blade. Handle with care and keep the blade away from your dog’s skin at all times. Never use the Mat Splitter on folded or loose skin, and never lift or pull your dog’s fur while using the tool. Always keep the tool upright and use it gently without forcing it through the coat.
Ensure your dog remains calm and still throughout grooming. Stop immediately if your dog becomes agitated or uncomfortable. Severe mats, particularly those close to the skin, should be assessed by a professional groomer or veterinary professional. Keep the tool safely out of reach of children and pets when not in use.
