Ensure your dog is calm and comfortable before grooming. Brush and comb the coat thoroughly to remove knots and mats, ensuring the hair can be combed through easily. Separate the section of hair you wish to thin from the main coat. Close the thinning scissors around the hair, then gently pull the closed scissors away from the coat to remove excess fur. Work gradually, thinning small sections at a time to achieve a natural-looking finish.

For dogs that are new to grooming, introduce the brush slowly. Begin grooming sessions when your dog is relaxed and, where possible, after exercise. Keep sessions brief initially and gradually increase their length as your dog becomes comfortable with grooming. Offer plenty of reassurance throughout the session and pause or end grooming if your dog becomes agitated or shows signs of stress.

These scissors have sharp blades and must be used with extreme caution. Take particular care when grooming around the eyes, ears, face and other sensitive areas, or when trimming close to the skin. Keep your dog still and comfortable throughout grooming, and stop if they become unsettled. Keep out of reach of children and store safely when not in use.

Care and Cleaning:

Remove any trapped hair after use and wipe the scissors clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Dry thoroughly before storing. Check the blades and handles regularly for signs of wear or damage, and discontinue use if any issues are found. Store in a clean, dry place away from children and pets.
