Pets should be comfortable and relaxed before having their claws trimmed. It is recommended that only the very end of the claw is cut to avoid cutting the quick. Long nails should be trimmed slightly every few days to encourage the quick to recede naturally. It is advisable to seek advice from a vet or groomer before trimming your pet's claws for the first time, to gain expertise and be confident tnt that you can trim your pet's claws safely.

Ensure your pet is calm, relaxed and comfortable before trimming their claws. Gently hold the paw and carefully extend one claw at a time. Trim only the very tip of the claw, taking care to avoid the quick, which contains blood vessels and nerves.
Long claws may need to be trimmed in small amounts every few days to help encourage the quick to recede gradually. If you are trimming your pet's claws for the first time, seek advice from a vet or professional groomer to learn the correct technique.
For small pets that are new to grooming, introduce the clippers slowly. Begin grooming sessions when your small pet is relaxed and, where possible, after exercise. Keep sessions brief initially and gradually increase their length as your small pet becomes comfortable with grooming. Offer plenty of reassurance throughout the session and pause or end grooming if your small pet becomes agitated or shows signs of stress.
Important Safety Advice:
Only trim a small amount from the very tip of the claw. Cutting too far can damage the quick, which contains blood vessels and nerves, causing pain and bleeding. The quick can be difficult to see in dark claws, so take extra care and examine the underside of the claw where possible.
Even if your small pet’s claws are long, proceed cautiously and trim small amounts at a time. Regular, gradual trimming can help the quick recede over time. If you are unsure where to cut, seek advice from a veterinary professional or qualified.

Take care when trimming, as cutting the quick can cause pain and bleeding. Dark claws can make the quick more difficult to see, so seek advice from a vet or professional groomer if you are unsure. Check the blade and handle regularly for signs of wear or damage, and discontinue use if damaged. Keep out of reach of children and store safely when not in use.
Care and Cleaning:
